The GDBR brand name was first introduced in 1999 with the opening of our inaugural restaurant in Taipan USJ, Subang Jaya. From there, we expanded quickly, securing the rights to anchor Summit Hotel’s Chinese restaurant in 2000 to 2002. At the height of our operations, we had a combined capacity to serve up to 1,100 people (or 110 tables) simultaneously. Notwithstanding GDBR synonym with exotic Chinese delicacies; i.e. shark-fins, abalone and bird-ness, our more comprehensive menu boost more than 80 different dishes, including seafood, dim-sum, and other tantalizing desserts. As part of our value delivery philosophy, we also assist clients in event planning, allowing them to leverage on our previous experiences.
3-years after establishment, GDBR venture into the “Golden Triangle”, Kuala Lumpur central business district in 2001. Located along Jalan Imbi, adjacent to both Park Royal Hotel and Berjaya Times Square, this restaurant began operation as our new flagship branch. Divided into two levels, renovation on the premise was design to accommodate 70 tables, in two separate dining halls and six VIP rooms - catered for multiple ongoing functions simultaneously. The branch continues to attract existing and new individual / corporate customers in the vicinity, given the strategic location, ample of parking space and brand awareness. After a runaway success in the first year, GDBR consolidated its other branches to focus purely on the Golden Triangle.
We currently have staff strength of approximately 50 part-time and full-time employees. The management is well regarded and has a decade long involvement as a restaurateur, while the cooking staffs have more than 15 years of industry experience.
